For me, there isn’t much joy in life.
And there isn’t much dread in the grave;
I’ve seen the last moments of someone I would have given my life to save.
Calmly observing the fading breath,
wishing that each sigh was the last;
I yearn to see the shadow of death cast over those beloved features.
It’s seemingly odd to forget
How the beauty of life have been captivated,
In the shadow of foresaken love,
Buried beneath a painful past.
